ARTHUR ROSEN

 
 

Arthur Rosen’s recent performances were held at Symphony Space and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music along with his compatriots in the South Oxford Six, whom he met while participating in the American Opera Project’s Composer and the Voice Series. He is the creator of Trouble The Water — a dramatic choral piece about the Freedom Rides in 1961; and was Musical Director for Another Person is a Foreign Country Directed by Ann Bogart; and Composer, Musical Director for The Ground Floor and Other Stories , also directed by Ann Bogart. He composed and performed in Ashes — A dance with live music in collaboration with the Sands of Time Dance Company. He composed the score for the film Planet Brooklyn which was directed by Reggie Allen for the PBS series — Reel New York; Composer, Arranger, Musical Director for the Feature Film — Cracking Up, directed by Matt Mitler; Composer, Musical Director of Faultline, directed by Morgan Jeness at the Cucaracha Theatre Company; Mr. Rosen was also a composer, actor and musician for the Theatre For The New City’s indoor, street, and radio productions, (in their early days) as well as the International Theatre Festival in Parma, Italy; he is the author of Trust The Wind, an original Western Operetta incorporating live music, mime, and taped sound effects, presented at Folk City in the West Village. Since 2010, he has been working with Theater Three Collaborative, creating Music and Sound Effects for their productions: Another Life; The Beekeeper’s Daughter; Extreme Whether; Other Than We; Prophecy; and now, happily — Blue Valiant. He has a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre from NYU Tish School of the Arts.
